London regained a motor show today. Recent years have seen an absence of the traditional motor show and several attempts have been made to bring it back to life without success.
MPH'03 should succeed where traditional shows have failed though. The new event is focused on performance cars and is built around a live theatre show. The smell of petrol, screaming tyres and donuts galore will form the basis of the entertainment with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and Tiff Needell hosting the live action.
We saw the dress rehearsals earlier today and it was a welcome change from static shows. It's sure to be an exciting show with some great machinery being thrown around in the area complete with extreme tyre noise, some deafening race cars, impressive stunts and all backed up with pumping music and some amusing narrative.
Outside of the arena there are dozens of performance cars to ogle at in the exhibition area. Ferraris, Porsches, TVRs, Lotuses, Caterhams, Nobles and more are there to grab your attention.
It's only on for four days this year but we expect it to be a great success and should hopefully become a regular feature of the motoring calendar in future.
