AMG at Silverstone: Pic of the Week

The letters AMG evoke plenty of emotion in car fans, legendary as the tuners that make Mercedes cars harder, faster and more exciting. Think of those historic models with some, er, modest nicknames: the 'Red Pig', that wild 6.8-litre AMG saloon that battled coupes in the 70s; the 'Hammer' with a 5.6-litre V8 topping out at 186mph, right up to the modern offerings like the GT R and the Black Series cars.

AMG is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and, understandably, is making quite a big deal of the half century. So if you weren't lucky enough to see the cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, here's a wallpaper of AMG's greatest hits at Silverstone. Quite a sight, isn't it?

And because we are quite big fans of (almost) all things AMG, the Black Series models deserved their own moment in the spotlight too. So far only five of the track focused Black models have been made - the SLK55, CLK63, SL65, C63 and SLS - and our second offering has all of them together. The choice is in your hands!

i don't recall getting a call to bring my SL60 out ?! Which would have been fairly appropriate as its the first AMG car model that came out in 1995 after Mercedes bought them out.
