As recipes for executive saloons go, the combination of Audi's four-wheel-drive know-how and build quality along with a bored and stroked version of the V10 engine they fit in the Gallardo has to be right up there.
Having given the world what is widely considered to be an all-time-great engine with the old 4.2 V8, Audi decided to go one further in 2006 and fit a 5.2 litre derivative of the 5.0 litre V10 they supply to Lamborghini. Ok, so it doesn't have the twin turbos of its RS6 big brother, but still 429bhp should leave you in pretty good shape for any executive traffic light stampedes and motorway hoonery.
We spotted this one
at a dealer in Amersham looking very smart in its Pearlescent Phantom Black paint with Silver Silk Nappa trim. Showing just 59,000 miles it doesn't sound like its lead a particularly hard life, and the presence of a complete Audi service history backs this up.
The only question is; would you be able to refrain from telling everyone that your car '...has an engine like the one from a Lamborghini'?
