PH Comp Winner Collects Prize 370Z

Gritty Northerner gets PH out of bed before the sparrow starts...

Winner Andy, looking more awake than us
Winner Andy, looking more awake than us
7.15am. To many of you this is a normal time to be at work, but to PH it's the middle of the night and a time for sleep. Regardless of this fact, I got up while it was dark (as did RacingPete) to head to PH Towers in time to meet 370Z competition winner Andy Nelson.

Andy stayed locally last night, and wanted to collect his prize nice and early so he could head back 'up North' to attend an important meeting this afternoon. PH greeted him with a coffee to help us all wake up a little.

Andy is the lucky PHer who won the prize draw to look after 'our' long-term test 370Z for it's final week before it heads back to Nissan UK. He is also lucky enough to live in the Yorkshire Dales, meaning the 370Z will be enjoyed on some challenging country roads before being retired this time next week. Not only will the Z be used for pleasure, it will also be used for business as Andy's company 520d is given the week off.

Pete hands over the keys to Andy

For fun, Andy drives a TVR S2, so he is looking forward to seeing what the Nissan V6 is all about. His father was involved with racing TVRs too, so the British sportscar bond is strong, and we wonder if this Japanese V6 can impress as much as Blackpools finest? Andy certainly seemed more than pleased to be taking the car from us this morning, which is more than can be said for RacingPete who did his best to hang onto the keys with the help of a few unmanly tears to ramp up the guilt factor.

Grittily unimpressed, Andy grabbed the keys and headed off to the M25 for the run back up to Yorkshire. We imagine that he is currently stuck in traffic somewhere on the M1, wondering how on earth we put up with living in the congested South East when his daily commute entails driving across deserted Dales roads.

Enjoy Andy, and keep us posted!

I'm probably being utterly thick, but wasn't the competition supposed to be based on entrants garage descriptions? I headed to the winner's garage expecting to find an interesting read and detailed pictures to kill the last few minutes at work and found . . not a lot?
