Piston heads is becoming a joke
Discussion
Indeed, I thought this was a public forum?!
I've had many a reason to name and shame but daren't for fear of my post being removed or ultimately me being banned.
I've then witnessed people being screwed by the very people I didnt dare to name.
PH has become a total joke!

Do you see other people advertising sale or wanted adverts on the forums?
Ted never allowed them, same policy as 1998 to this day. If they were allowed the forums would be clogged with adverts.
As it happens yes!Ted never allowed them, same policy as 1998 to this day. If they were allowed the forums would be clogged with adverts.

This and other forums only exist because of the enthusiast ......
The forums have happily existed since 1998 without adverts.I'd understand if I was a trader but this is a public forum.
My post was genuine aimed at like minded enthusiasts.
I assume from your reply you're another one of the mods??

PH is somewhat like Tesco's car park. By default it is made available to anyone, but that doesn't make it 'public' in the same way that the M25 is public. Tesco could quite legitimately choose to exclude anyone for any reason it chooses (with only a small number of exceptions relating to equality law). Likewise, the owners of PH can choose when to exclude someone, or to exclude any of the content they try to post. The OP seems to think that the default open-door policy means he can post anything he likes, but he is mistaken.

Why not open a link such as trip advisor where we the public can leave feed back without fear of a mod removing it?You may not agree with my post but it appears I'm not the only disgruntled member, why not let us have our say? Surely you're not afraid ??

Had the OP asked for a TVR related vehicle coming up for sale as we all see on a regular basis, would this have evoked the same responses and ridiculous retorts ?????
Thank you Sheel, my point exactly. As a TVR owner for the past 20 years I considered it my right to post in my home forum.marshalla said:

Unless there's a gun at your head forcing you to post here without abiding by the rules, feel free to use it.
What rule did I break? The mods seem to have different rules on different forums. Unless there's a gun at your head forcing you to post here without abiding by the rules, feel free to use it.
It's funny how none of you appear on a regular basis .... Have I hit the mod alert button ?
To those that supported my innocent original post I thank you. For those that have made such a fuss it's time to put your egos to bed!!
Ph was once a place for enthusiast to gain the knowledge they required to make educated, sensible decisions, it transpires that idiots that compare Ph to Tesco and the M25 now have the technical know how to own, run and buy a car, good luck chaps.

Unfortunately, I think you are right.
Part of the problem is invisible mods, there doesn't seem to be any way of identifying them. Got to keep the power well hidden it appears.Edited by DJR 7 on Monday 4th May 00:43
Big Al, "not a written rule"says it all really!
I posted innocently to a captive audience, why? Because I want to buy a car from a like minded enthusiast.
You need to look and police your unwritten rules more closely ... Or publish your written rules so that we can adhere to them.
I for one did not appreciate the criticism I received tonight from the idiots that were interpreting your " unwritten rules"

Do not post or link for the purposes of advertising or personal gain (including cars for sale) or cross-post across multiple forums. If you wish to advertise please use the classifieds or contact us directly. Please note that we do not allow members to advertise their own car in the forums, nor do we allow members to post asking for valuations on their current car (please use the classifieds as a guide).

A transaction doesn't mean gain.
As I said earlier, you allow other items to be traded on your forums..
I truly believe you've been to harsh with my post.
Having been a member for some 13 years I am disappointed with your response.
