Repairable? Or am I looking for a donor body?

This probably isn't the right one exactly but as you can see RS Australia do them.

I think I did find an RS part number a few years ago. Or you can look on their website for one with the correct dimensions.

Aha - this one I think (but check the dimensions first)

$18 what's that - 6 quid?

That's a real help Adam. I shall check sizing and then order one. Assuming the bolts holes don't line up with the existing I will need a plate on the other side of the firewall and probably some nitrile sheet to cushion the whole thing so I don't damage the glassfibre when tightening.
Will also need two of the Rimmer Bros bushes - FAM2406 from what I have read. Would be nice if I could find those locally but we'll see.
p.s. since the Brexit vote 1 pound = 1.74 Aussie dollars so AUD $18 = GBP 10.26

some pics of the window trim. Basically a T shape made up of two different profiles by the looks. Design is all wrong because there is nothing for the upright of the 'T' to attached to. Min has rivets through it which hold it to the underside of the outer door window slot.
In my opinion, it should have had an 'h' profile where the 'n' part grips the door slot and the extension contacts the glass. That could just be glued in place and the the lip trimmed as required as the glass does not sit central in the door window slot along its whole length. |http://thumbsnap.com/fIc2RjxR[/url]

If you mean the outer seal, then the t- shape is correct and I have been wanting that seal from zigs woolies link. But mine are still decent, so will replace them only after everything else is done. The t-shape can be glued to both edges, horizontal and vertical, of the window opening.
Yes the outer seal that sits on top of the door. But there is no vertical surface (or only the thickness of the fibreglass i.e. 2-3 mm anyway) so what I was thinking about was something that grips the sill from top and bottom rather than just sitting on it. Picture worth 1000 words etc, excuse the limited artistic skills...
The original door seal rubber should work...I spent ages trying to find a solution and it wasn't until i realised that my door has dropped on the drivers side that the original door seal rubber with a small "P" seal works...

Interesting..mine's 1984, you?
Nov 1989 (production ended in Oct '89 ).I should clarify that when I said "has the vertical bit then I have 4-5mm of grp there. The structure is same as yours, but the grp is thick enough that the t-seals downward bit rests against that bit and keeps the seal in correct orientation. May take a pic "some day"...
Anyone else had experience of 'SEALS+DIRECT'?
I recently received one of their catalogues (f.o.c.) with its comprehensively-wide range of door seals & similar/related stuff.
Website: www.sealsdirect.co.uk.
This may not be my first mention of this supplier (their speed of response was impressive) but still need to confirm categorically no connection. They may/may not be as good as my present perception, hence the question posted.

Hi mate.
I have dealt with Seals direct on a number of occasions and have always found them very helpful, Especially when you call them...Orders always arrive promptly and has always been what it says on the tin...
I even ordered some seals without checking the sizes properly but they still changed it...;)
10/10
I feel like I'm giving them feedback...I better get a discount on my next order...

Went with a push fit edge trim. This will do for the interim, which is likely to be a decade or so if I'm honest..
I've ordered new door lock knobs and collars and will be getting the vinyl re-trimmed when I can afford to.
Good o...Can you let us know please mate what collars fit as i have been looking for these..I've ordered new door lock knobs and collars and will be getting the vinyl re-trimmed when I can afford to.

Morning all, I have a gas strut question..
Doing a measure up it appears I need either 4 x 485mm gas struts for bonnet and boot or 2 @ 500mm for the boot. But does anyone know what the correct Nm pressures should be please? I only have one usable strut and helpfully, its not marked.
The one I have is relatively easy to compress by hand so it must be pretty low, but the bonnet ones will need a bit more I think as its quite heavy.
Any info would be appreciated,
Cheers, Toby
