RAF Marham Track Day - It's Back - 26/27 Sep 15
Discussion
Folks,
The numbers currently actually booked do not look great at present - only about 20 cars in total, some of which are for one day only.
So, for those who have booked already, thank you. For those still wanting to come but not yet booked then please do so as soon as possible. Spread the word amongst other forums and mates too please.

Looking at booking on the sunday. When is the cut off point to book, and how many spaces left?
Spaces are available for both days and the cut off should be this weekend, the earlier you book the better it is for us as organisers as it gives us more room for planning but we can try to accommodate late bookings, just let us know on here or the track day website and we will do our best to help. Thanks,
Track day team.

Hopefully you've had a few more come through since? Would you cancel if you don't get sufficient numbers? Not that I'd want you to!The numbers currently actually booked do not look great at present - only about 20 cars in total, some of which are for one day only.

Quick question: I've booked and paid for myself but now have a passenger I wish to add - how can I do that please? I have the Paypal details, shall I just email the details through? I couldn't seem to add a passenger to my existing booking without paying for me again.

SpottedLaurel, please have another look and see if you can pay for just a passenger as i can't remeber off hand what the booking form allows, and what it doesn't.Quick question: I've booked and paid for myself but now have a passenger I wish to add - how can I do that please? If you have no joy, please post up on here again and we will sort something out for you, even if it comes down to emailing / texting us the persons details and paying the fee in cash on the day. We will be able to sort something for you.
Regards,
Track Day Team.

Guys, if you want more people to know about this event, start a thread in the Track Days section of Piston Heads. Stress the charity nature of the event and the cheap prices, and give a link to this thread.
Valid point.... and done!! Posting rules
And from the above
"Do not choose a username which is the same as a company or trading name, nor create multiple profiles or attempt to use any other person's PH log-in to post content without permission or promote charity events, recruit for charitable donations, surveys or seek votes for competitions without permission nor promote events without permission."
Don't shoot the messenger - there have been other events in a lot of sections that have had threads deleted before and I'd hate to see this one join them.......
Of course you could already have full permission in which case ignore me
Anyway in other news the one thing stopping me attending was whilst for the track car I have 3 or probably 4 sets of wheels - but it's not going to be anywhere near ready - so I'll have to use one of the back up cars - neither of which have spare wheels for so it was a question of which could I could find a set of wheels for first
I've finally got hold of a set of cheap alloys without paying the "M*** tax"
So quick blast/sand and some rattle can paint and they'll be ready to chuck some slicks from my stock pile or some part worns on.
Better sign up now.......

Thanks BC! We aren't looking to annoy admin, nor detract from the good reputation of the organisers (the RAF) but any method of spreading the word to make this the best event it can be we are looking at.
If admin aren't happy, either delete as necessary or message us and we will amend as you see fit.
Thanks!

Hi guys, I have a couple of questions for the more experienced trackdayers. I'm seriously considering attending this event but it is over 20 years since I have done a track day and I'm obviously a bit rusty but my questions are more around the car and wear and tear. As it will be my first event for a long time I wouldn't kick the arse out of the amount of time spent on track, probably 2-3 laps at a time. How harsh is the surface on tyres at Marham? I have just the one set and the car is quite heavy ('99 Corvette) and it goes without saying that I will ensure the brakes are up to the job.
As the event itself, how 'aggressive' are other drivers at track days? When I did them before most people were fine but there was always the minority element who wanted to race door to door, is this still the case?
Thanks in advance.

In answer to the second half of your question, I think the drivers at Marham have pretty good manners. The circuit is so big that any traffic quickly clears (or just hang back and let people go past so you can have your own fun). I don't think I'd be so confident or have as good a time at a circuit trackday. As the event itself, how 'aggressive' are other drivers at track days? Thank you, the size of the circuit does appeal. Just out of interest how many cars are usually on the track at any time?Gassing Station | East Anglia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
