It is a stunning bit of kit. I also read about some handling issues in I think Excellence magazine. I think what he has done and achieved is fantastic. Excluding engine, gearbox, interior etc. when it comes to suspension people try and re invent the wheel and mess it all up. After all they still use torsion bar suspension in formula 1.

This is news ? Paul Stephens has been doing the same for years - and for half the price....

964 running gear, choice of engines, 70s retro body styles inc. brushed stainless steel targa

And I believe to a very high standard

Q: 'so the customer can have whatever they want?...'
A: 'only if I think it looks good.'

That is one the of the most important points the Singing Canary makes.
You only have to look at the awful choices some clients make when specifying their car.
Footballers for example.

Autofarm have been creating good 'old skool' 911's for quite a while, and these are sorted.

Autofarm can do the '72 S/T, '67 R, 2.5 SR (remember Karl Heinz Feustal (959 Speedster), i think he has all three!), type look as desired, and for a lot better price than 150k

That's got me hankering after a 964 rather than a 993 now, what a gorgeous piece of kit.

Lead singer no less, I remember seeing them at Finsbury Park some 15 years ago.

just looked at the website and it must be the same as the intro music is very much like the album chrome in particular Fripp.

God, I used to really like their album "Adam & Eve" (IIRC). Doesn't Rob post on here or did I imagine it?

Stunning car BTW.

That's a good answer, but until the guy comes up with a couple of proposed examples that he turned down, I'm not believing. I think the 'it' in 'only if I think it looks good' refers to the down payment.

So Ninemeister do the engines? Their 993RSR recreation looks lovely

Just been watching that - that is a lovely 993. Gets past the 358 in the end, too!
I know this story is about the singer cars but that Ninemeister RSR really is loveliest bit of kit I have seen in a long long time.

Its the only one I could see myself owning.

There is some nice video footage on youtube. Sounds as good as it looks. smile

There are some superb detail touches on the Singer car like the seats, rear shelf, door mirrors, steering wheel, the Heur clock etc., http://www.singervehicledesign.com/

But I do wonder if in reality it would be a better end product than the Harris/Tuthill greenmeenie that was featured on Driver's Republic a year or so ago. ISTR that could be recreated for around £100k.

This was the exact same video I had in my head when reading the article and was surprised more people haven't mentioned it. Stunning car and I hope he didn't sell it in the end, he deserves to drive that monster day in day out!

It's interesting that people are starting to understand the man hours and the huge costs involved in building something very special.
Excuse the rubbish I phone pic

This was built from a fairly mint and rot free 3.2 Carrera Super Sport. I wanted a race car that I could comfortably use on the road. There always compromises to be made of course but apart from zero carpet and interior trim apart from RS door cards it is road useable. It still has an ashtray, electric windows, a glove box and the centre console. It is effectively a brand new 911.
