I like that. After years of threatening to do it, they've finally called it the 4-series!

Looks ruddy good imo. Like it a lot cool

Looks utterly fantastic to my eyes. Much better than the saloon F30. Will definetly be interested in a few years time..

They have dropped 3-series coupe and convertible names, will be branded as 4-series coupe (+ grand coupe) and convertible in the future.

Sad part is killing of the iconic M3 coupe. It will come as M4 (likely) frown Next M3 sedan will be continued to be branded as M3 though...

Wow.

Those cup-holders look quite unusual.

Otherwise it looks fairly nice I guess.

Speculation or fact? Amazing they would give up the iconic M3 name for the "Coupe", but rumours of Porsche dropping the GT3 name in favour of RS - mere speculation smile

The current 3 series coupe is a much prettier car. Why are all cars ugly these days? Other than the Jaguar XK, Mercedes SLS and Ferrari 458....I really cant think of many more that are on sale brand new today. Its a shame.

Looks like they've captured the elegance of the Gran Coupe and deviated slightly from the snarling front end of the normal 3 series. Good stuff.

Now I'd like to know what the M4 will look like. Shouldn't be too hard to mock one up after the new M3 is revealed.

Also, can we please please please see the 2 series!
I think you're missing the point, are they not saying that there isn't going to be a 3 series coupe, meaning no M3 and just an M4 instead? Or is it me missing the point?

Is there reason to believe they wont do a saloon and/or estate M3?

Looks better than the previous gen but not as good as the E46.

Think PH must be on the BMW payroll as my earlier post (the first on the topic) was removed...

Bonnet still looks like someone sat on it on the leading edge - a little too droopy and the lower bumper treatments over fussy on the front and rear. Side profile much improved though and quite like the 'velour' interior!

Interesting that they've maintained the odd looking straight shut-line above the front badge rather than bringing the bonnet down to the grill.

Why is it called 4 Series Coupe? Isn't the whole point of calling it a 4 series so that it doesn't need the 'coupe' part of the name. Well done marketing, well done.

Car looks great though, Engineering delivered their part as usual.

But how could BMW call the new coupé a 4-series but then call the M version of that same model M3? The logic in the naming wouldn't work. They have to call the next M3 Coupé a M4.
