Very happy ending. I'm a tiny bit out of pocket but worth the money, hassle and stress this claim has caused.

Not chrome, just the lighting. Think gunmetal, standard anyway.

Absolutely smitten. Feel sad for the Leon but onwards and upwards.

Good result. Tbf the Leon was horrid, that however looks great, nice colour.

Well done. Put it all behind you. I quite agree with MoelyCrio : your expectations were outside the parameters for usual repair work. The same applies to everyone on this Forum. We've just read through 9 pages about some orangepeel and scuff marks on a car - most people wouldn't see why we considered it a problem.

On the other hand... Some years ago our very cheap hatchback had its nose and wing smashed (I was stationary but insurance gave me 50% of blame, grrr). I got a quote from the best local bodyshop but the insurers sent me to some "backstreet" place. After a week it came back and it was... perfect! I couldn't see how it was possible to do such a good job on a budget but the proof was in front of me. They even updated the front panel to the design for the next model year, which I chose to regard as a good thing.

I hope you saved a couple of quid from the settlement to buy some bubblewrap for when you park your new car...

I rather like that & usually I have a very strong dislike of BMW products!

Well deserved outcome OP.

Great news! You seriously need to forget the last few weeks completely.

Glad you had a result, and that looks like a fabulous replacement.

My old e36 cab has had paint on its boot at some stage and it is a ste spray job, you would have to be Stevie wonder to say it was ok! Wish somebody had been as fastidious as you!

Thanks for the support and kind words chaps. As good as the result was, I'm not sure i'f i'd go through it all again and if there was next time, I'd 100% be straight in touch with Anniesdad or accident management to handle the claim. By the time I realised how bad things were, I was past the point of no return. In hindsight, lifes too short.

BMW Orange Peely laugh

It's not that bad actually, looks like the dealers already given it a wet sand and detail - not a swirl in sight.
