At what-o'clock-in-the-morning did the Polo Harlequin seem like a good idea?

I occasionally see a Mk3 Harlequin on my commute to work and while I wouldn't have one myself, it always makes me smile. It's looking a bit tired (the red panels have started to fade), but at least it hasn't been slammed or otherwise ruined. I always used to wonder, what colour is printed on the V5?
V5 will say 'Multicolour'

My Forester that is mainly silver with dark grey lower panels/ bumpers is classed as multicolour.
nope, it will be listed as Red. as the roof/rear quarter is red
According to the guy on this thread, who worked for a Volkswagen dealer when the Polo Harlequin was sold, it's the colour of the car's shell as the bodypanels are just bolt on.

The newer model in the picture here has wrapped bodypanels. I read about it somewhere, it was done just as a one off by this dealer. Underneath, it's all red.

Black looks the best 99 percent of the time in my opinion but is a royal pain to keep clean.

White is the worst colour on most cars. Kia have a mustard yellow on some of their cars which wins the "worst colour ever" award
Oh I quite like that colour. The Pro Ceed GT looks ace in that one.

Those saying Mercs don't look good in red are just wrong.

I'm not a fan of the late 90s Softmints green.

My 911 was purple, including the roof and rear quarter, my Forester roof and rear quarter were silver and both V5's stated colour as 'multicolour'.

One from me.

My first car was a 'V' Reg Mini 1100 Special in metallic Rose with a tan roof and tan tartan interior. Just like this one:-

Truly awful, especially with the 'Fat Willies Surf Shack' sticker on the back and 'PECO' rear box, but strangely I do wish I had it tucked away in the back of the garage.

One of my mates had one of those as his first car before I knew him, he didn't refer to is as "Rose" though, he gave it a more manly name.

Saw something very odd today, a Boxster (think it was the previous shape but hard to tell with them) painted beige. Was that ever offered as an official colour?

The more I read this thread the more I like all of these colours.
I particularly like the medium gloss grey that comes on Skodas and focus St's. I have that I. A heart beat.
I'm a lot less fond of any metallic over a straight colour at the moment.
