I use BBR at the moment which is great! However I need some link to my phone so I can upload routes to Google maps (or even some other sat nat software) and follow it as I'm riding. In the past I've just had a map stuck to the tank bag but I'd prefer it linked electronically. I can't be the first person to want this, what does everyone else do?

I plan it out on google maps first and then laboriously plot it onto copilot so I'd be very happy if people have a better way of doing it!

I use Myrouteapp to plan route (paid for lifetime licence option) & load it to Sat Nav (TomTom).
You can also use myrouteapp to plan route & load to Sygic satnav app on iPhone.
Myrouteapp is cloud based and can be used on PC, Mac or iPad to plan routes.

found using search facility!!! wink

ETA

I tend to download the ITN file(s) from BBR then upload it/them into MyRouteApp. I then add in the rest of the route to get me from where I will actually start from to where I actually want to be, then download the whole route to me satnav.

OK great, I'll look those up see if I can make it work for me biggrin

I generally use my iphone for the sat nav but am open to downloading the Tom Tom app if required.

I saw https://kurviger.de/en posted elsewhere earlier and it looks really good. Only one I've seen so far that will do a round trip (circular route), and displays petrol stations, and you can create your main big loop then easily add in the petrol stations as extra waypoints, and it exports to TomTom, Garmin, CoPilot, etc.

If you go the way of Myrouteapp & are intending to use it on your iPhone you won't be able to load it into the TomTom app on iPhone. The TomTom app on iPhone doesn't accept pre-planned routes. If you are doing it on your iPhone you'd need a compatible app like Sygic which will allow a route imported from Myrouteapp with waypoints (max 48 waypoints, Navigon allows max 24 waypoints).

If you have a stand alone TomTom or Garmin satnav etc, then they'll take pre-planned routes from Myrouteapp.

I've used tyre to plan a route then upload it to my garmin zumo, it was easy enough but will watch the thread for any better advice.

TYRE & MyRouteApp are from the same guys.
TYRE is their former offering, Myrouteapp their new platform.
