Hi Guys ive just became a member of the forum ive been porsche made for years i like all the 911 range from early 911's to the latest model.

there was a few guys talking about nigel benns car which was filmed in the programe back in dec last year.when i moved to majorca in 2003; i got to know nigel very well and having a valeting background i cleaned and polished the car many times at the house at the time it was metallic white with white seats pipped black.the interior looked a little tired but still ok,the car was still nice. we went to a wheel specialists in palma and put new 5 spoke chrome wheels plus tyres on the car, cost 6000euros.They did look nice on the car it got rid of those chrome 3 spoked wheels that a lot of people didnt like, and to be honest some people just dont like things that are not original which is fare comment. but i can tell you when we parked this car in porta portals marina there were astons, ferrari's lambos bentleys all over the place but this was one of the most looked at cars in the port. at the time he also had a cadallac escalade even when he had his new bentley azzure 250k's worth he still loved the porsche.

before i moved back to the uk he said he might get it painted black and retrim the interior black.well black is not that forgiving when it comes to panels and paint finish with grp or fibre glass so maybe would not look that good in black. what do you know when i went to visit him it was done plus a engine rebuild paid for twice after a guy ran off with the parts money, another 7000euro's.so nigel said enough is enough he can't spend no more money on the car.i said i would love the car but it wasnt the right time for me.with a hand shake and a price agreed, the car was covered and left for 18 months which didnt do it much good.

i got the car feb 2011 where it was spotted on the back of a transporter with the C BENN reg plates still on. he paid 140,000dollers for the car in 94 in LA i think the car was custom built there with the 959 body by the first owner from new i need to confirm this, a company built so many for wealthy people as 959's could not be imported due to crash testing, customs needed 4 to get crash test data porsche wouldnt give them. nigel see the car in a showroom in LA and had to have it.it came back to the uk in 96 converted to rhd mabe by the boys in beckenham kent, i know they did alot of work on the car.the car is a 1990 964 carrera 4 cab,its not got a turbo engine.

speaking to nigel and his wife caroline they said with buying the car, colour changes,4 interior changes,LHD to RHD conversion plus much more must have come to nearly 200k in the cars life with him. its my project for spring next year ive got lots of work to do its going back to white needs a full repaint, interior ,hood plus all rubbers , wheel referb, etc but its got the making of a nice car its still undercover. hope this fills you in a little.

this is my first porsche i just love the car ive had so many offers to sell it but i need to bring the car back to as new condition and have some fun first.Would love to here from any of you thats just new into your first porsche early 911-964
Lovely, got any pictures?

woah!

interesting story, difficult read!

So it's a re-panelled 964? I'm not that clued up on 911s and 959s, but apart from the body-shell, how much does it have in common with the 959?
