Has anyone changed the steering wheel for a nicer one in their Boxster/996? I'm missing the smaller, chunky Club Sport item I had in my 968. My Boxster has the 3 spoke jobby - it feels a bit big and dare I say it, cheap in feel. The steering wheel in Mrs Hammerheads V40 feels better!

Do/did Porsche make a smaller, fatter rimmed version available as an option??

Cheers,

Steve

"spie" had a smaller rimmed, thicker steering wheel on sale in the classifieds a while ago (Techart from memory). He had it fitted to his 996 but changed the car hence the reason for sale.

Not sure if he sold it so you may care to give him an email via his profile.

When you find a new one -

I'll take your 3 spoke wheel off you if it's in metropole blue.

I've always liked the steering wheels that came on the 993RS/GT2, looks quite slender and small to me...

TechArt do nice steering wheels, IIRC DeR has one.

You'll need to give them a ring though about the boxster as they haven't got their tuning program online for the 986 yet.

Think the techart wheels are made by Raid, who also supply aston, konigseeg etc with these wheels. More designs and maybe chaper direct:
