I've had the Tuscan 6 months now and its been a trouble free (touch wood) cracking period with no niggles and very few complaints about the car. The only constant irritation i have when driving with the lid off is that at any speed over say 40mph you cant hear the indicators when they're on (even with the volume on max)and their positioning means i cant see when the lights are on very easily either.

The result is that i regularly find myself driving along with the indicators blinking away for a minute at a time after the manoeuvre! is this just me?

Has anyone else become irritated by this and found an ingenious solution / repositioned the indicator lights somewhere else on the dash pod etc?

No! My self cancelling mechanism has stopped working and I've yet to get around to fixing it. I take it you are in the same boat?

I see you have a mkII so don't know if this applies, but exactly same happens with the mkI if you've turned the warning noise off. With it on, the indicator has an electrical beep which is impossible no to hear. I personally find it a bit annoying so leave mine silent.

Reading the above got me thinking as mine has always been intermittent, usually left turns don't self cancel.
Presuming the cancelling action is mechanical and operated by a cam or trigger on the steering column I would think it should just be a question of taking the cowling off and aligning the indicator unit correctly.
Or maybe I've over extended my mechanical knowledge!?

Pretty much. It's a cam that triggers a cancellation lever on the indicator stalk module.

Still not got hold of a puller for the steering boss to get this done myself... although the number of times I've had people waving at me because I've left an indicator on should really spur me into action.
