First ide like to say hi.
Im new to the TVR scene having just bought myself a 2000 plate Cerbera Sp6..
And realy liking it...
Most of my initial questions have been answered by searching through old posts on here...
Apart from one, which is,,, Are there any upgrade speakers on the market that will replace the factory pioneers.
What have you fitted and where did you get them from...
Im not after super dooper sound with multiple amps, just an upgrade of the standard system. After all the 15 yr old pioneers must have been superceeded now..
I know the soundtrack of these cars is the rumble of the engine, but itd be good to upgrade the ICE if possible.
Thanks.

I just replaced them with current model pioneers rather than get all posh about it. The only thing to be careful of is the door speakers which are particularly shallow, unless you use spacers - and if you do use spacers be prepared to kick the damn things every time you get in!!

Hi TailEndCharlie

I bought these for mine

Vibe slick 6 coaxial. 6.5" /16.5cm

Mounting diameter : 143mm
Mounting depth: 44mm

There's some photos at the thread below and they sound fine - just hard to tell versus the noise of the engine and the wind etc!

there are some great speakers around but check the depth of the originals. As said they are shallow. Don't forget to do the rear ones also.
I added a small pioneer underseat bass box under the helmet holder.

Hi Ian, wavey
Sorry to be Dullo (again) but does one normally acquire spacers from the manufacturer or the ICE sales point ?

Quite a swish sub install in the back there.

Might have to consider this, seeing as the cur is currently being re trimmed!

I put one of these under the helmet holder
http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-pioneer-...

Had to chop the bottom off the fit, mounted it to the helmet holder with a bracket so it comes out with the holder, wiring all goes down the centre console.

I find the original speakers are fine, but need a little bass add in.

I don't, but the reviews are pretty good for them and if they fit then the price isn't bad either

Here's some reviews from Amazon US for the speakers - 72% 5* so not bad from that

I have that installed in my Tam, makes all the difference, even with better speakers.

I have similar under-seat sub in my Tam too, a fairly cheap Sony mechless head unit (CDs always tended to jump), 3 way clarions in the back panel and alpine tweeters up front. sounds enough to my ears...

Know it was a while ago, but did these speakers fit in the Cerbera and what were they like? I’ve recently bought a late V8 and I’m keen to upgrade the four speakers and head unit. Cheers, Josh

I think we need pictures of the car and some more details... biggrin
Congrats on your purchase.

Not sure whats available now, but do pay attention to the depth of the speakers, especially the front door ones.
Watch out for head units as well, especially if you fancy a pop out screen one as they won't clear the lip above easily. I've got an old JVC that works great, but the newer Apple/Android connected ones for sat nav are very appealing.

Pioneer do units where the screen mounts to the outside of the unit, which may well clear the lip, but I've not measured. Just idly browsed last year...
