Car covers

I'm looking to buy a car cover in the next couple of weeks. Can someone reccommend a particular car cover?

The car (a 944) is parked on the drive so I'm guessing I'll need a heavy duty cover. Or can I get away with a lighter one?

The car is used everyday if that makes any difference.

Just an update on my experience. I'm still very pleased with my American sourced (from carcoverworld) Noah cover (for my 944) which would be even better value now given the continued strength of the £ against the $. I'd certainly buy another from them. One thing to note, however, is that because it is a USA website my credit card had a spot of bother with their security checks which I resolved with an email (in which I also had to explain that I hadn't ordered four covers in my various attempts to make the order 'stick').

Anyway back on topic, Classic additions are good, just make sure you tie it down properly and use the cable lock under the car (don't ask how I know!)

Do yourself a favour and buy a decent-sized fan to keep the air circulating - vital in a heated garage. If you can mount it high up on a shelf or bracket you won't have any problems.

Try eBay for a secondhand item. I found a Boxster Covercraft for ~£20 that fits my 993 OK(ish)

I have reported your post to the forum as abuse. Very unnecessary remark! If you read the topic once more I think you will realize what it’s got do with the initial question. I was simply stating that I had ordered an original car cover and that I could report if it was any good or not once it got delivered to me by my local Porsche dealer.
By the way, I am very proud of my GT3! I think you were very proud of your 964 when it was new, back in the early 90s.

What don't you understand? He posted he'd ordered an "official" cover, which means it was ordered from an OPC or from the factory. Thus indicating to the thread starter an obvious place to contact first.

Aside from the recommendations so far, may also be worth checking the adverts in the PCGB magazine, Porsche & 911 World, GT Purely Porsche etc.

a gt3 is not a 944 and since when is a heated garage the same as "is parked on the drive"

It's not, look closer at the poster's profile. If I lived in Sweden and had a GT3 I'd be keeping it in a heated garage through the winter. It's hardly a car you take out to play in the snow!!!

Jabriel, my 944 is also parked on the drive and used every day but I would advise against a cover. The simple reason is unless your car is spotlessly clean each time you cover it, then any wind is going to cause the cover to grind any dirt into you paint and leave you with lots of scuff marks.

I used to cover my gleaming motorbike when left outside and its petrol tank was soon covered in scuffs

I'd recommend a regular layer of wax on your car and just leave it uncovered
