After some help please. I’ve just noticed the drivers side mirror glass seems to be getting loose. Not the whole mirror just the glass. I’d obviously like to sort this before it works completely off.
Can I get the glass off easily enough? I read there’s a clip to slide to get it off but the post was very old and the photos had disappeared. Any advise and photos would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Paul

If you motor the glass up as far as it will go, you should be able to just about see a plastic lever under the bottom of the glass. Move this allow the glass to come off . Covered in this thread, I can't find any photos at present either:

That works if the glass is original. Later replacements are just a push fit on to the motor mechanism ISTR. It's a long time since I had to take one apart.

I can't upload an image unfortunately.
Basically glued behind the glass you have a kind of crown. On the mirror itself you have another one where the first one seats.
Once the mirror tilt upward, you should see small plastic protuberances, they are one the inner part, if you slide them (rotation along the crown), this will release the glass.

Thank. I assume IF it’s got the black tag to slide across to get it off refitting is just the reverse. ie fit in position and slide black tag across

Some good news for a change. I took the glass out and just the glass popped out, not the backing ring. I’ve give it a good clean and ordered some double sided pads. Give the whole car a good wash whilst I was out there..
