Hi guys as the title says how do you remove the glass from the door mirror. How is the glass fixed in? Mine has a vertical crack in it, which im told could be an mot failure. Is this correct? Do you totally strip the mirror down, help please guys.

IIRC to remove the plastic mirror holder it's a small screwdiver into the slot at the bottom of the mirror case. The glass will be fitted to the holder with doudle side tape (read thin sponge).

If your mirror is busted then the replacement is a Citroen CX25 from Halfords IIRC.

use the joystick to move the mirror glass as far back at the top and out at the bottom as possible. Shine a torch in the gap at the bottom you should see a small black tab. This slides sideways (cant remember which way but will only go one way). This moves a ring around behind the glass that then releases the mirror.

Once you've done it you'll see what i mean. Easy job.

The difficult bit is finding a heated mirror then removing the black plastic ring from the old mirror glass and getting it to stick properly to the new glass and getting it properly aligned.

ETA: If you do find a heated mirror make sure you use proper mirror tape to fit the holder on the back. Dont do what I did and use any old double sided foam tape as it will get warm when the heaters come on and you will find your nice new mirror hanging by the wires and scratching the paint on the door.

Mine was held in with the double sided sponge, and was removed with gentle prising with a flat blade scew driver, having adjusted the mirror so that I could get behind it and protecting the body coloured housing with cloth whilst doing it. Interestingly the heater element was disconnected I guess to stop the glue on the sponge being heated!
