The other evening, a friend of mine and I had one of those 'down the pub, had a few drinks, start random pointless debate' as to what the best intro to a song in the world is.

We said it had to be a song that you hear and either grin like a drunken idiot or shout out 'OMG', crank the volume up on the stereo and dance like a drunken idiot!!

We ended the evening (after several top choices, and many stupid ones) with two songs each:

1) Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
2) Nirvana - Come As You Are
3) Rolling Stones - Can't Get No Satifaction (Or 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking', couldn't decide!) or
4) (Think this is the winner!) Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

If you think you can settle this for us, or think you can do better, please feel free to post.

Thanks in advance

Now before I go shouting shout REPOST - it was over a year ago - so fair enough ..... www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=163731

However - I'd like to say that everyone has completely missed the greatest intro ever ...

Thin Lizzys Chinatown

Fair enough mate. I haven't been on here that long so missed the first round of this.

Let me change it to make things interesting:

Best Opening Line To A Song!

I shall open up with:

System Of A Down - Cigaro

Tell me you don't smirk when he sings that line!!!

Neil - no worries at all - just taking the mick. I tend to remember stuff like that - but I've no idea what I did yesterday.

Although I'm not sure what there is to discuss as Chinatown by Thin Lizzy clearly has the best intro hehe

That's cool Mark.

Just listened to your choice and will let you have that one.

Seems we have a huge rock fan base on here.
Keep them coming!!

Pick anything off the album at random, you can`t go wrong. thumbup

NO,no no,no,no...
You are all wrong......

Howa about.....
All very good songs but we're talking intro's here. Had the album on in the car yesterday and it's solid all the way through, but no really 'killer' intro's. Wake Up probably IS the best.

Afraid your wrong again...

Best RATM intro is "Renegades Of Funk" or is it "No Shelter"......
