Following on from this thread about dirty diesls http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=149...
I recently came across an article in a boating magazine about water in diesel emulsifiers.

The developers of this fuel technology are claiming
Cuts NOx by more than 60 per cent
Cuts particulate matter by up to 90 per cent
Lowers engine temperature by 6-7 degrees
Burns more efficiently than regular diesel saving fuel
Utilises latest emulsifying technology
Cost-effective
Can be run in any diesel engine
Requires only minor adaptions to fuel system and a water source
Is table and reliable

This fuel will be used by Team Britannia, in their attempt to beat the record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe in a power boat, which is scheduled for March 2017

Although it is at present aimed primarily at the marine and power generation market, could this be the answer to diesel road vehicle pollution, or is it just a load of marketing hype ?
