Has something changed on the gassing station this afternoon as safari is refusing to load any threads?. It will display the main list of forums, but clicking on any links brings up "bad server response (NSURLErrorDomain:-1011)" . Internet explorer works fine.

Same thing here with Firefox.

I'm having to use MicroShaft Explorer to access and write this.

Had a bit of a search and think it seems to be something to do with the web server using gzip encoding to trasfer the html files, but if it not configured to exclude already gzipped files safari gets a bit confused. Are you guys both using safari 1.2?.

Yup 1.2.1, should be the latest version, never happened before and I haven't done anything to the system so I assume it's something serverside.

Now I'm now getting an error popup saying

"The file default1.htm cannot be found. Please check the location and try again"

When I try to go to the main page on Firefox. Explorer (on at the moment) is fine.

I've also changed the title slightly, as it's just not Apple

Sorry chaps. My fault. Was experimenting with a different compression mechanism.

I was using XCompress but that recently started to encounter problems. Tried HTTPzip with no joy and just tried Isapizip but that exhibited the weird behaviour you described.

hummmm.....On Firefox I can get in with www.pistonheads.com/gassing/ and see all forums but www.pistonheads.com is still giving the cannot find default1.htm error.

Even when I click the Pistonheads link to the main page from Gassing.

Clear cache job, or something else?

with XP SP2 IE, i could see threads fine (when the server was up) but I couldnt see the listings of the forums themselves, returned a DNS / Server Error page.

Works again now.
