Greetings. This is my first post in the AM section. Just taken delivery of a beautiful DB9 in Celeste Blue from Tom Hartley. I am as pleased as punch with it. Lovely car. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance. Having come from a 911 turbo the sense of theatre is amazing and the immediacy of the power delivery is fantastic! One quick question- I have read all about taking fuse 22 out of the V8Vs but is it the same in the DB9? Could anyone talk me through it, I am hopeless with anything practical and am terrified of messing it up. I have seen this thread but it is for a V8V so I am not sure if the same applies for the DB9? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=832...Thanks guys- HTF

Better still, go to Bamford rose and get an exhaust bypass valve switch fitted.
Need pics now. Thems the rules.

Thanks guys, it is a 2004 car.
Will take the fuse out directly and get BR to put the switch in at the next service.
Unfortunately on the drive home I managed to kerb one of the wheels getting out of the way of an ambulance. My fury was unmeasurable. Really enjoying the car and looking forward to meeting some fellow owners.

Don't worry about that. The wheels are easily resolved. I'd take multiple kerbed wheels over any bodywork Welcome. Nice to have another coloured car in the fold

Congratulations. Is Celeste blue the same colour as used on Lamborghinis (Celeste Phoebe blue)? I.e. a very pale baby blue?

I would get the switch fitted. BR fitted one to mine at the last service and I find it useful to switch it back to original on the motorway and coming home late at night so that I don't wake Jockman up.

I had my switch fitted at Hever, with a donation to Charity. I'm easy either way - with or without the switch

Perhaps mine is particularly quiet, but the Db9 in my view does not have an intrusive exhaust note at cruising speeds with the fuse out. Late at night in a built up area, your right foot is the biggest determining factor, with regard to exhaust noise.

Nor did mine when standard - but it would stll have been nice to shut it down on demand such as when in London traffic. As BR fit the switch FOC when havibng work done there... seems a no brainer as he's going for a service anyway..? Sometimes you need to make progress without anyone knowing... my exhaust switch, when on quiet, is set to open the valves at 5000rpm... therefore i can make some rather extrame progress without anyone knowing, or pass any trackday limits
