Ferrari supercar exhibition opens

'Technology. Design. Myth' exhibition features all the limited-run models from Ferrari's past

Hot on the heels of its appearance at Geneva, Ferrari’s LaFerrariwill be displayed as part of an exhibition at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.

F40 Competizione will be one of many on show

A large part of the exhibition, named ‘Ferrari Supercar: Technology. Design. Myth’, will be given over to the new car, and feature displays that catalogue the entire process from the car’s conception through to approval, as well as detailed information on its technical content and styling. Two full-scale design bucks of the car will also be shown.

But while the LaFerrari will take centre stage, displays will also feature all of Ferrari’s limited-run and homologation specials. In other words, examples of the 250 GTO, '288' GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, 599XX Evo, GTO Evo, F40 Competizione and FXX will be exhibited – and as if that wasn’t enough, there’ll also be a selection of Ferrari’s Formula 1 cars through the ages.

The exhibition, which was opened by Luca di Montezemolo himself, will run until September 30.

Where do Ferrari go with names after LaFerrari? After an F40, you made an F50. After a 360, a 430. Simple. What's after LaFerrari?
laProchaineFerrari?
ilsuccessivoFerrari?

It seems a bit short sighted if they aren't intending to go bust imminently.

Does it really matter?

Must say that new pic of the La ferrari looks much better and well proportioned? the previous picture showing the rear wheel hidden in the arch looks hilarious, this looks much better.

I think I'm staring at LaFerrari too long and am starting to see images of this 1995 Ford GT90 concept in my head. Do I need to go out for a bit of (very) fresh air?

Technology. Design. Myth...

Passion, bella machina, ciao baby, Tifosi, Forza Ferrari !!! Blah blah blah blah...

Ferrari have become a parody of themselves. Drowning in a sea of hyperbolic cliches.

I was under the impression that LaFerrari wasn't the final name for the project? I bloody well hope they change it because IMO it's ste. Call it the F1000000 or anything else than LaFerrari.

Also still unconvinced on the looks so P1 for me please mister Bank Manager.

So, how much would it cost to fill your garage with this lot? 250 GTO, '288' GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, 599XX Evo, GTO Evo, F40 Competizione and FXX

Roughly 40mil I reckon, maybe less depending on the cost of the 250 GTO

Also, is there anyone that owns the full set - Sultan of Brunei maybe? (For the sake of completion, the F50GT was a pretty special 'special edition' too!)

Is it just me or is that pic of the Fezza TheFezza (as it will called in the UK) suspiciously 'mule' like

The glass, the roof texture - it's somewhere between 'poor rendering' and 'painted clay' or maybe '3d printed'? smile

It's the 'shrug' it has in the shoulders - some cars are hunched, this one of shrugging...

Perhaps it's unsure that it's the definite article? smile

Made the pilgrimage to Maranello a couple of years ago.
Could have sat in "The Room of Champions" surrounded by all the F1 champions helmets, trophies & cars, and watching a wonderfully evocative film about them all. This news makes me want to go again!
Visited Stuttgart last year to see the Porsche and Mercedes-Benz museums. Both brilliant in their own way; Porsche more aimed at the enthusiast, Mercedes suitable for all as more a history of transport experience. The highlight was being shown round a Mercedes engine production line by the Chief Executive who was sent to the USA to set up the 1st Merc factory there! He's now on phased retirement and enjoys being a tour guide now! smile
