GT3 in The Valleys: Pic Of The Week

More tuneful than a Welsh male voice choir, PH disturbs the peace of The Valleys with a noisy Porsche

You'll be hearing a lot more about our eventful week with a 991 GT3 shortly but to whet your appetite here's a pic from the Welsh Valleys, retracing the steps of our farewell drive in the gorgeous Riviera Blue 997 GT3. We thought it only right that we try the 991 out on the same roads and you can read about how we got on there and on track at Silverstone in due course. For now imagine the sound of an angry flat-six echoing off the hillsides and enjoy the fruits of snapper Roo's hike up a hill to get this lovely shot.

It's the A4061 South West of Treorchy. Lovely roads round there smile

Thought I recognized it, the view from the top of the hill has been the wallpaper on my phone for ages!

Just further up the road from where the GT3 has come from is the 'EVO hairpin' That whole stretch is a great bit of road.

My old Cayman S at the hairpin

Thanks everyone. I'm putting together a "lap of Wales" circuit for a weekend's driving with some friends. This all helps.

Been there, done.....something similar

Keep following the A4061 all the way up a mountain pass from Nant-y-moel to Treorchy, up and out of Treherbet to Hirwuan, skip across the A465 towards Hirwuan, follow an awesome mountain road across a mad max style empty patch of nothing, join the A470 and enjoy a great A-road through spectacular scenery and a few very long straights to Libanus. Awesome bit of road.

One of the best roads in the area along with the A4069.

We are lucky enough to have both included in our monthly meet.
