 Chevrolet Camaro: Detroit 2006
|
Chevrolet is seriously considering bringing its muscle car Camaro to Europe. The concept car was unveiled at Detroit just under a year ago (see link below for story).
However, since it will take three years for production vehicles to hit showrooms, chances are that a convertible will arrive first in order to keep interest levels up, according to Autocar this week, before the coupé.
And since a soft-top is relatively easy to engineer and powertrains -- from engines through to transmissions -- are already available off GM's internal shelf, we can expect cars with 3-litre V6s to 6-litre V8s to start dropping of the boat in the next couple of years.
Yank tanks? Just expect to see more in the coming years as the big three try to contain costs by spreading their engineering investments across ever-bigger markets.
