down in your diaries: the fabled PH Sunday service is back and, for our final fling of the year, PistonHeads is returning to Mercedes-Benz World.
Last time we pitched up at Merc's flagship facility on the site of the old Brooklands racetrack we broke records, with more than 400 cars turning up to bask in the sunshine. This time there won't be the draw of the weather, but there are plenty of other attractions...
Bacon!
You won't get a balmy summer day in mid-December, but M-B World conveniently comes with plenty of indoor space, and Merc will provide plenty of warm drinks and bacon-in-a-bun-themed grub. Oh, and all 400-plus spaces will be on good-ol' rain-friendly Tarmac.
Activities!
There'll be plenty to do, too. As well as wondering around Mercedes' jaw-dropping uber-showroom, you'll be able to take a ride in an AMG 6.2-litre V8 'Pistonheads Taxi' (like the 'Ring taxi, but at M-B World and not a BMW) for £10 per person around M-B World's handling circuits.
Competitions!
There's also a chance to win one of four passenger rides with the Silver Arrows Display Team, an acrobatic driving display team whose power sliding and pirouetting pushes the power and performance of AMG to the limits. For a chance to experience this from the inside, simply email competitions@pistonheads.com with the subject line 'Silver Arrows' and include your name and contact details.
If slithering around on a 'dab of oppo' really takes your fancy, the M-B World Sunday service is also set to host the inaugural PH Powerslide Challenge, a chance for you to have a bash at your own spot of opposite lockery. To enter, you'll need to drop an email to competitions@pistonheads.com with the subject line 'PH Powerslide Challenge' and tell us why you want to have a go. There's only one caveat: this is just for fun, so no pro drifters please!
The winners for both competitions will be picked out of the PH virtual Trilby by midday on Friday 4 December.
For directions To M-B World follow this link. The PH aspect of the day kicks off at 9am, with last orders called around midday, but don't forget that Mercedes-Benz world will be open for the rest of the afternoon, so you won't be kicked otu as per normal if you fancy hanging around(!)
And, as per usual, if you want to pop along to the Sunday service on 13 December, just add your name to the forum thread below.
