The eyes of PH, it seems, get everywhere. No sooner had the webosphere got hold of the
official images of Merc's new electric SLS
, the E-cell concept, than we got a call from PHer Harsh, currently on the PistonHeads Viking Tour, to say the PH convoy had spotted one live in the 'real world'.
It turns out that Merc engineers looking after the E-cell were more than happy to chat to our guys, and let them take these pics.
Apparently, the car has a 160km range currently, and can charge up in just one hour, although its engineers are working to improve both of those figures.
We already know from yesterday's news that the 'leccy Mercedes can sprint to 62mph in 4.0secs, but we're now also told that it can hit 125mph from rest in 11.0secs, on the way to a 186mph top speed.
Our travelling super-sleuths also found out that the lithium polymer batteries are bespoke Mercedes efforts, and that the adjustable front splitter and rear diffuser work their high-downforce magic at 70mph.
The only thing our fellows didn't manage to winkle out of the test team were some free AMG fleeces...
