Spyker has confirmed that it will be producing the B6 Venator.
Venator's quirky looks will be available to buy
While the company had already announced that it planned to produce the new model, CEO Victor Muller has confirmed that the public’s response to the car
at the Geneva Motor Show
was “beyond [the company’s] expectations”, and that there’s now “no doubt” that the B6 will be going into production. “It is still too early to confirm production specifications,” Muller added. “However, I can say that the final design will be very close to the Spyker B6 Venator concept.”
That means the production car looks likely to retain the concept’s 375hp-plus transverse-mounted V6 engine. Initial reports also put the new car’s price tag at somewhere around the £100,000 mark. It’s also likely that many elements of the concept’s quilted interior will also make it into the production car; don’t expect to see a propeller steering wheel like that fitted to early C8s, though, as the B6 is set to feature a rather more plain (but also safer) Audi-derived alternative.
Smashing quilted interior should make production
There’s no word yet on any schedule for the production version of the car, but we will of course bring you more as we get it.
