This weekend the World Rallycross Championship begins in Portugal, which not only sees the debut of Sebastien Loeb in the series but also the first race for
Ken Block's
latest racer. Built by Ford Performance, Hoonigan Racing Division and Malcolm Wilson's
M-Sport
Focus RS
RX has 600hp and is capable of 0-60mph in less than two seconds. Yes, less than two seconds. The driving will be shared between the sideways superman Block and Norwegian Andreas Bakkerud.
The weekend takes place in hilly northern Portugal, the highest circuit on the World Rally Cross calendar in fact. The altitude will be the perfect environment for these bonkers machines to flex their turbocharged muscles.
Qualifying is tomorrow afternoon, with the race finals during Sunday. To get you in the mood for a new World RX season, don't forget PH chatted with Liam Doran recently about just how wild the racing can be. And if that's not enough fast Ford action for your weekend, the Ford GT racer will make its European debut at the Silverstone Six-Hour - fill your boots!
