The 599 GTB is a wide car at 1,962mm, so you parking it can be an issue in the average parking space. Because of this, check the car's flanks carefully for parking dings and feel along the lower edge of the front spoiler for any scuffs from entering car parks or driveways.
There is no danger of any corrosion, but a professional inspection is worthwhile to check underneath the car that its undertray is undamaged. Also, inspect the paint closely to make sure an enthusiastic owner has not polished through the paint on any high points such as the tops of the wings or edges of the bonnet. Some owners report the paint on the 599 is quite thin and prone to this kind of damage.
The only other common fault is crazing of the Perspex rear quarter lights, which looks unsightly but doesn't hamper the car's ability. New quarter lights are around £500 per side plus fitting.
PHer's view:
"The best looking modern Ferrari by far. Watch out for thin paint, especially on the edges of the panels when cleaning and polishing, but otherwise it's just superb to look at."
