UK-supplied 350Z models were well equipped as standard and the optional GT pack added leather seats, electric seat adjustment, cruise control and improved Bose stereo and is definitely worth seeking out. An optional satellite navigation system is not worth paying any extra for as every owner we spoke to said it was outdated and clunky to use.
NISMO extras popular with the mod crowd
Whether you think the interior plastics looks good or not is down to personal taste, but they are hard-wearing in typical Nissan fashion. A common criticism in contemporary press reports was the plastics looked and felt a little cheap compared to an Audi TT's.
As with most sporting cars, you should check the driver's seat right-hand bolster for wear, which is easy to have repaired by an upholsterer. A little more fiddly to fix are electric window motors that fail, which will be a £300 from a Nissan dealer or £175 for the replacement motor plus fitting from a specialist. When looking at a 350Z Coupe, make sure the frameless windows drop and raise a fraction when you open and close the doors.
The stereo's CD player is well known for skipping, which is annoying rather than anything majorly wrong with the stereo. Every owner we spoke to simply lives with it.
PHer's view:
"I had the GT version, so leather, BOSE, heated seats, six-CD and climate control all as standard. Good quality as well and, although not Audi/Mercedes quality, very good for the money."
