Good for you thumbup I hope I'm wrong and the people you have got to sign up do contribute to the community and give rather than just being here for the events which is what you have said they signed up for thumbup As I said, the point I was making is that the idea behind the events is that it's an opportunity for the PistonHeads community (members of the forum) to get together, in my mind, just signing up for the events is taking a bit of a liberty.

Ok mate I get where you coming from then. Just had a long day of college and saw the negative messages and released a bit of anger! Sorry about this and I will definitely make sure people who have signed up use Pistonheads as you said it should be used for.
Would be nice to meet you at the event. Are you joining the Convoy?

roflrofl I'm not angry it just frustrates me when people sign up to PH specifically for Sunday Services and never actually contribute anything to the community, your Instagram is clearly promoting the event and getting people to sign up to come along. The idea is for the community to get together at a cool venue, not for people that have never been on PH to come along because they saw it advertised somewhere else.

There have been issues at venues in the past caused by similar to this and pH were not allowed back.
Got to agree with this.

Nothing wrong with organising a convoy and advertising elsewhere but telling people to sign up to attend is in my opinion against the spirit of the event.

I’ve said it many times but if people could attend a Sunday service only after x months of being a member then we probably would still be allowed to attend Mercedes Benz world.

The thing is mate that the people I asked to come have been members Of Pistonheads for a least 2 years. I agree with you a couple may have signed up but if they signed up they clearing want to be involved with Pistonheads.

Nothing has ever happened at any of my events and recently I actually hosted a meet at Mercedes Benz World and have been welcomed to come back.

I didn’t tell them to attend just said his much I enjoyed the event and they wanted to join👍

Hi Ethan,

Glad to have you onboard for the Sunday Service, should be a cracker! Thanks for spreading the word and putting together this convoy smile

As other people have mentioned though, there are concerns about people signing up to just to attend the event and never to be seen again. This goes against our principles as it really is something we do to give back to the community. However, please don't see this as us not wanting you or your friends to attend, or us not wanting to grow the PistonHeads community and spread the word. It's just if people are signing up just to attend, this is very unfair on PHers who can then not come along as the list is full...

Also, as some people may not have attended a Sunday Service before, they may not know how we run these events. For example, we do not accept anti-social behaviour in any shape or form (no burnouts, donuts, speeding etc) - these are family friendly events, and bad behaviour can be very damaging to us, both in a legal stand point and an ability to run future events. Again, I'm in no way saying you are going to do this, but you may have never attended before smile

Lastly, anyone turning up who is not on the list will not be allowed in. We have strict a strict capacity set by BMW (and all other venues), and if we go above this it will breach BMW's/our health and safety rules and could damage all future events being held.

I'd very much appreciate you pointing the new comers to this thread to have a read of this if you can!

Looking forward to the event on 16th - see you there! thumbup

Hi Jack,

Thanks very much for your message. Really appreciate it.
I completely understand where you are coming from and I appreciate why others may feel that is is unfair but most of the people in the convoy have been members for at least a year and were already attending the event so asked me to put together a convoy.

I usually host charity meets raising funds for local charities and therefore I have never had any misbehaviour at my events. To be honest hate burnouts and donuts such as much as you!!!!

I will send this message just in case but I have never had any issues before so people cant assume that just because they have become a member recently and have social media does not mean at all they are going to behave any different from anyone else attending.

I personally need to use the forums more just don't have much time with college etc.

Finally everyone who is coming is a proper Petrolhead and stand for everything you guys do. So i highly expoect they will become very much regulars to your events.

Look forward to seeing you and the new Z4

Regards Ethan

Just want to reiterate that I'm in no way accusing you or your friends of anything, simply stating how these events flow for those that have never been. smile By the sounds of it you'll all love the event, glad to have you attending.

Cheers

Route Information

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Nm-Eedvv-t55Dq...

Directions

Warning. Unfortunately the route we are going to be driving on has had numerous accidents over the last few years as it is a fun road but can catch people out. The roads twist back and forth. It is really good fun but please drive it with respect especially with early morning frost there may be ice if very cold.

I expect your driving is perfect but please NO reckless driving that may lead to you or others being involved in a crash. The speed limit should be kept at all time as on these roads it is for your own safety.

Please respond to this to confirm you are happy with the route and the fact that you understand the risks on the roads we are taking.

I can't help but feel like one 17 year old will struggle to control 40+ other drivers. There's always one in a convoy trying to show off. Fingers crossed PH doesn't get banned from BMW next year...

What’s your problem mate. I trust the people in the Convoy. And I know they will do not do anything at the event. I am worried about People I don’t know trying to ruin it for others.

Maybe you should stop worry about what is happening and worry about yourself enjoying the last meet before Christmas.

Everyone is an Adult they understand the rules of driving as otherwise they would not have past their test.

Well done mate. But I am not driving!

I will rephrase it then. Adults shouldn't be treated like children they understand the risks of driving and not everyone drives dangerously or wants to do burnouts.

I am just hosting a convoy for people to meet up with friends and drive down to the event together so they can arrive at the same time and also enjoy a nice stretch of roads.
