I have just had the phone call offering me a refund voucher. I have declined, as my mate and I cannot go in September and we have absolutely no idea whether we will be able to go next year. Told them I wanted a refund.

We can't do that says they.

I quoted their own booking conditions at them:

Condition 8 - inter alia - If we have to make a major change or are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements, you can either have a refund of all monies paid or accept an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us.

They say "ahhh but the world is a different place now and we need to keep deposits."

I say" I accept that times have changed but you cannot change your booking conditions - if I had cancelled you would not be waiving your conditions that allow you to retain deposits. I own an Insurance business that is 100% exposed to the leisure industry - my clients are cancelling and I am forced to give refunds under Financial Conduct Authority rules - treating the customer fairly. Why should you be any different?"

They say " Sorry, above my pay grade. I will have to refer upwards".

Interesting to see what comes back.

At least you have spoken to the man who can.

I must add I cant go in September either but I have requested a credit for 2021 and am happy with that myself.

I provided a detailed reply regarding my experience with TV, which I found very acceptable. However the moderators who run this site have seen fit to remove it. It was not offensive, not criticising anyone and was quite reasonable. Seems very strange that it was removed.

It was deemed to breach the rule of posting No.5 No Naming and Shaming.

There are always two sides to every story.

However should you not agree then may I suggest to raise your issue via info@pistonheads.com.
