RUF CTR3 Clubsport

Furlonger are pleased to offer this exceptionally rare right-hand drive RUF CTR3 Clubsport finished in Jet Black and with just 15,500 miles. Chassis no. 008 is one of just 29 CTR3 examples produced by RUF and is arguably one of the most desirable models they have built to date.
RUF Automobile Gmbh, more formally known as RUF, is a world-renowned manufacturer within the sports car realm. With the company’s initial founding by Alois Ruf Sr. in 1939 as ‘’Auto Ruf’’, it was setup as a service garage that grew to experiment with vehicle design in the late 1940s. Alois Ruf’s son, Alois Jr., was heavily inspired by his father, and went on to become an avid sports car enthusiast, servicing and restoring Porsches out of his garage. Following the passing of Alois Sr in 1974, 24-year-old Alois Jr. stepped up to manage the company, to wit he focused directly on his passion of Porsches, particularly the 911. Debuting their first complete car in 1977, a heavily tuned Porsche 911 Turbo with a stroked 3.3 litre engine. This marked the beginning of what would be a tremendously successful platform for RUF. Some 10 years later they released the RUF CTR, which reached a staggering top speed of 211 mph, setting the record for the fastest production car in the world at the time. Fast forward to 2025, RUF is still one of the most successful Porsche tuners/modifiers and manufacturers today, having produced some of the most applauded automobiles in the world.
The RUF CTR3 was unveiled at Bahrain International Circuit on the 20th anniversary of the original RUF CTR, on April 13th, 2007, in conjunction with the opening of a new RUF facility at the circuit. Styled and designed with the assistance of Multimatic to evoque the profile of a Le Mans car from the 1960s, the RUF CTR3 utilises the body and engine type from a Porsche 987 Cayman and 997.1 Turbo. Adopting the Cayman’s mid-engine layout rather than the traditional rear-engine layout of the legacy CTR models, the CTR3 is powered by a 3.7L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine which produces a staggering 691 bhp, or in the case of chassis no. 008, 766 bhp with the Clubsport upgrade. Power is transferred to the rear wheels directly via a competition style 6-speed sequential manual gearbox paired with a limited slip differential.
RUF CTR3 chassis no. 008 was delivered new and registered to its primary UK owner in April 2010. Configured with an array of desirable features including but not limited to; modification to full Clubsport specification by RUF in 2013 with 766 bhp engine upgrade, titanium exhaust box, gold leaf coated dry sump oil tank, 997 GT3 RSR front axle control arms and anti-roll bars, 997 GT2 motorsport clutch, and Ohlins adjustable dampers and bespoke springs front and rear. Despite its race-based appearance and characteristics, the CTR3 was designed for the road, with a luxuriously upholstered Quilted alcantara interior, carbon fibre racing seats and trim, high power audio system and contemporary functions to make it all the more usable.
Now offered for sale, this RUF CTR3 poses an exciting opportunity to purchase one the marque’s rarest and most accomplished models. Offering the extremely rare balance of both staggering performance, and usability, the CTR3 is undoubtedly a car which has until now slipped under the car collectors’ radar.
