MG RV8

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2025 on Sunday the 24th of August, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.

In reincarnating the MG B, the 'rubber bumper'-specification body was utilised and modified to accept a new set of beautifully curvaceous outer panels

The 3.9-litre Range Rover EFi V8 engine developed 188bhp, enough power to enable 0-60mph in just under six seconds which even now is pretty impressive

Of the 1983 cars built in total, just 311 were supplied to the UK-market and this example is finished in British Racing Green Metallic paintwork with a Stone Beige leather interior and currently displays just 42,023 miles

On offer from a deceased estate so the history is limited. The V5C states seven previous registered owners

The car was sold by Beaulieu Garage in 2014 and there is a printed sheet from them stating that the car is powered by a 5-litre TVR unit and benefits from Poly-bushed suspension, upgraded shocks and electric steering, none of which our vendors are able to confirm

To our eyes it appears to be fitted with the normal 3.9-litre V8 but it has been fitted with a Torque Flow TF500 induction kit, standard equipment on a Griffith 500

The MG presents well generally and is described as running and driving although would benefit from a light recommissioning 

Sensibly guided even for a standard RV8, interested parties would need to establish for themselves the car's state of tune etc.
