1974 VOLKSWAGEN MICROBUS

A beautifully presented 1974 bus that's been meticulously updated and upgraded over time.

ENGINE AND MECHANICS

A fully reconditioned 1641cc engine was fitted by VW camper specialists Type2 Detectives in December 2022, with only a few thousand miles covered since.

Twin carbs fitted for improved pulling power.

She drives beautifully — pulls well through all four gears, and is comfortable cruising at 60mph.

The 4-speed gearbox is smooth throughout with no issues.

HISTORY

Puchased from Type2 Detectives in July 2020, who had also sold the van to it's previous owner.

All works carried out since current ownership is detailed in a logbook with invoices.

MOT'd, and Serviced by my local garage this year.

Although MOT isn't required due to historical classification, it's been done every year.

Tax Exempt and HPI Clear.

BODYWORK AND EXTERIOR

Presented in two-tone Pastel and Standard White (code L90D), finished by a local specialist.

Bodywork is in excellent condition - she's stored under cover throughout the year.

A full clean-up and Waxoyl treatment to the underside and all cavities was carried out in 2021. Spare wheel fitted to the front. Chrome VW hub caps.

The pop-up fibreglass roof is fully functional with good condition canvas fitment.

INTERIOR

Full matching cream leather seat coverings, door cards and floor covering throughout, with only minor signs of age-related wear. Original interior paintwork with light patina in places — characterful rather than tatty. Beautiful Wolfsburg steering wheel.

Custom ply furniture throughout, including a collapsible table, generous storage compartments and a matching unit housing the fridge and hob. Rock and Roll bed with the diesel heater venting from beneath, temperature controlled via an easily accessible panel. Ceiling light fitted to the pop-up roof.

REASON FOR SALE

It's time to pass on this beautiful van to a new loving owner. I've had some great trips in her, driving from London to places such as Cornwall and Wales, as well as shorter weekend trips to Brighton and Norfolk.

I've got so many happy memories both using and caring for her, but as I'm relocating soon she needs to go to someone who will get more use out of her.
