Description
1967 JAGUAR E TYPE SERIES 1 FHC MOT JULY 2027 (NO ADVISORIES)
PLEASE NOTE: Viewings can be scheduled from June 30th upon the owner's return from an overseas business trip.
An investment-grade, UK RHD turn-key, number matching, 1967 Jaguar Series 1 4.2 FHC, rebuilt with an uncompromising focus on authenticity and absolute transparency. Emerging from a forensic mechanical and structural refinement program completed in June 2026, this car is a proven, road-ready grand tourer ready for immediate continental travel.MOT July 2027 No advisories.
THE POWERTRAIN: STANDARD BORE RESET
The original 4.2 unit was stripped by classic specialists Sigma Engineering. Rather than leaving a highly bored block with no margin for the future, it was re-sleeved back to its original Standard Bore specification. Fully rebuilt, fitted with 123 Ignition, hot-cycled, and meticulously tuned on a rolling road, it delivers optimal power and flawless thermal management.
Sigma simultaneously overhauled the ancillary architecture, including the complete braking system, clutch, suspension geometry, and anti-roll bars. The rear independent suspension (IRS) subframe was completely rebuilt under previous ownership and fully verified during this refresh.
CHASSIS & ENGINE BAY HONESTY
Aesthetic preservation was entrusted to Mitchell Motors. The engine was removed for a bare-metal strip and repaint of the bulkhead and frames (original Reynolds 531 factory ripples remain proudly visible).
The Underside: Forensically stripped to bare metal to expose the immaculate factory floor pressing ribs, then sealed with a durable, high-end Raptor coating for bulletproof stone-chip protection.
Detailing: Soft copper crush washers were fitted to both the oil sump studs and the cam covers to entirely mitigate the classic XK engine's propensity for oil weeping.
INTERIOR SPECIFICATION
The cabin benefits from a complete, no-expense-spared 12,000 interior trim replacement commissioned by the previous owner, featuring beautifully tailored rich Red leather upholstery and premium Red carpeting. The toggle-switch dashboard remains untouched and period-correct.The car comes with a full ring binder of invoices and service history.
Why you're going to love it:-....
.....Because you are buying total structural and mechanical peace of mind backed by an MOT with no advisories till July 2027.
Many E-Types on the market today might look good on the outside but are hiding numerous body imperfections under thick filler or they are hiding expensive, worn-out engine bores or structural tub nightmares under thick underseal.
This car has had a complete mechanical reset—meaning you can drive it across Europe tomorrow without a second thought.
Why I bought it & why it stands out:-
......I bought it because it is a genuine Series 1 4.2 Fixed Head Coupé—the absolute sweet spot of E-Type design, combining the iconic covered headlights and toggle switches with the much better synchromesh gearbox and torquey 4.2 engine.
It stands out because of its absolute transparency. The entire underside was stripped to bare metal (see photos) to prove its structural honesty before being sealed in bulletproof Raptor coating that doesn't hide the perfect floor pan ribs, in addition the engine block was re-sleeved back to its factory-fresh Standard Bore. No shortcuts were taken.
My favourite thing about it:-
The stunning, dramatic contrast between the deep, liquid-glass Dark Navy Blue paint and the rich, £12,000 Red leather cockpit. But away from the looks, my absolute favourite thing is how dry it is. The engine bay is a total jewel box when yo open the clam bonnet, with mirror finish cam covers and dashpots detailed with a gold valley and soft copper crush washers on the sump and cam covers to completely cure the classic Jaguar oil weep.
It's an elite, usable grand tourer built to be driven and enjoyed, not hidden away on a trailer.
A clinically perfect, highly documented E-Type built to be driven, not hidden. Ramp inspections welcomed.
