The MGA replaced the MG TF and was launched at the 1955 Frankfurt Motor show with its new radically streamlined body. Concerned how the new car would be excepted MG entered two prototype cars in those years Le-Mans 24-hour race. The two cars finished in 5thand 6th in class, cementing its success as a race and road car. During its production run a total of 101,081 cars were sold with a mere 5869 being produced for the home market.

The MGA 1500 Coupe offered here at Autostorico was first registered in 1957 in the UK as an original right-hand drive car. Finished in its Original Black with Red leather interior trim.

Passing through several owners the car was purchased in the early 1990’s by an MG enthusiast who undertook a no expense sparred restoration. This included a bare metal respray before attention turned to the mechanicals. The engine was intrusted to Oselli Performance Engineering who rebuilt to fast road specification. Other notable works included overhauling the braking system including front disc brakes, suspension, re-wire and interior re-trim.

Specification highlights include spotlights, chrome luggage rack and Moto-Lita steering wheel.

Supplied with an extensive history file including a current V5 registration document, previous MOT’s, heritage certificate, restoration photos, numerous invoices and other related history.
