EXTERIOR

The striking red paintwork in which this VR6 is presented can only be described as immaculate, still showing a beautiful deep shine from every angle. On close inspection It is completely free from any dents, dings or stone chips, even the original factory wax can still be found on the sills and underside of the car.

INTERIOR

The VR6 is upholstered with extended black leather, all the seats remain in perfect condition feeling soft and supportive with no wear or damage to be found to the bolsters or seat bases. The leather extends to the door card armrests both front and rear. Looking across the dashboard, all the switch gear and surfaces boast a deep texture that can only be found on such low mileage, carefully stored vehicles. There is absolutely minimal wear to the often worn areas such as the steering wheel and gear knob and the black carpet is spotless throughout the interior, protected in the foot wells by a set of black over mats.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Having covered a staggering 3,337 miles from new and gone through our rigorous inspection process, we can report the mechanics of this VR6 are in fine fettle with no issues or concern.

On ignition the engine fires into life and idles up to temperature correctly. The 5 speed manual gearbox feels smooth to operate, shifting through the gears with ease.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The VR6 still sits on its original 15" BBS alloy wheels that are all in excellent condition with no kerb marks to report. The wheels are shod in a matching set of Dunlop SP Sport tyres that all have a minimum tread depth of 5mm remaining.

Both pads and discs have plenty of life left and help pull the car to stand still quickly and smoothly.

HISTORY FILE

The Volkswagen Golf VR6 was first registered in January 1997 and has had just 2 keepers from new. The original keeper, who purchased it from the supplying VW dealer, Helston Garages Ltd owned the car for the first 16 years of its life until the current keeper purchased it in 2013.

In the history file there are various MOT certificates and invoices to be found, along with the original sales invoice for £20,000 and a recent concours event marking sheet, showing 121 points scored. The original VW document pack is present, containing all the dealers business cards, manuals and handbooks. There is also the original unused supplying dealer tax disc holder and dusting cloth to be found!
