Description

This is my pride and joy, a 1993 Rev 2 MR2 Turbo tin top. Sought after as it's a more rigid chassis and no worries about condensation or leaks. These cars really are special. I'm a proper MR2 enthusiast, being a member of all the clubs, and you can trust that this car has been looked after and I know it inside and out.

MOT until November 2015.
Imported in 2005 so still clean and rust free underneath.
Mileage is 107000 but this is half KM and going up as used casually.
It has a few modifications and rare bits:
JP Decat
RARE Kakimoto single exit exhaust (bung included for quiet time)
GReddy style intercooler
GTSChris MBC set to 10psi
Ghetto boost gauge dash install (needs to be homes and wired in, but is working as is)
Crystal sidelights
Man in Dandism floor mats (jdm)
Turbo timer
Genuine Toyota boot mat
RARE Fishnet Recaro seats (rare factory install, unfortunately passenger bolster has a repair but driver seat is perfect).
Sparco 16" staggered alloys (could do with refurb) with new rear FK452 tyres and good FK452 fronts
I've owned the car for 10 months only. In that time I've fitted the decat pipe and mbc, new turbo gaskets complete set, new coolant temp sensor, new front track rod ends, new front top mounts, new rear discs and pads, new rear tyres, and given it a service (new oil, plugs, filters) and coolant change.
Previous owner did in 2013 - refurb ct26 turbo (still in mint condition, spot on), clutch and timing belt. There's no docs for the clutch or timing belt from what i can see but when I bought the car the owner showed me a lot of photos proving the work was done. I could also tell he was a real mr2 enthusiast, like i am, as we chatted about the car for well over an hour.
There are no worries about emissions with a Rev 2 as they are exempt at MOT time.
The car pulls and boosts strongly (scary in the wet). Every drive is an event and feels special. The turbo whistle behind your ear and racing Kakimoto exhaust are very dramatic and add to the experience. In the dry the car is planted and handles like a go kart.
If I could afford to keep it I would, but needs must, and I only hope prices stay this low so I can get another one in the future.
Now the bad points -
- Both doors have rust in the popular place at the very bottom, due to owners not draining them regularly. This is the only rust on the car.
- There is some lacquer peel on the front n/s wing.
- There is some minor scratches to the front o/s wing (car parks!)
- There is a graze/scratch about half a meter across door. Somebody scraped their car along it and drove off. I've got it looking as best as possible so it's hardly noticeable now.
- No stereo installed. Was like this when I bought it and never bothered me at all. I will supply the stock stereo and an aftermarket stereo with the car.
I can also supply you with the stock cat converter in case you want it.
- The speedo is sometimes temperamental but normally sorts itself out after 5-10 minutes and reads normally. It's a simple case of replacing the worn speedo drive but i've just not been bothered enough to pick one up.
That's it really. It may seem like i'm being picky but I pride myself on honest and
descriptive adverts. It's been as reliable as my old NA MR2. These cars just don't mess about. Start first time every time, regardless of the weather etc. Whilst the bodywork needs a little bit of attention, it is otherwise a brilliant, solid example. The oil or coolant levels have never changed and I check them once a week.
