1988 / E Porsche 911 Club Sport - 41,059 Miles

Just 340 911 Club Sports were built worldwide, this one being 1 of just 53 RHD examples.

Based on a standard 3.2 Carrera, the Club Sport version was built for club racing, but was also a rather special road car.

The CS had a blueprinted engine with a higher rev limit and had extensive deletion of many comfort options such as sunroof, air conditioning, radio, sound insulation, rear wiper, door pocket lids, fog lamps, front hood locking mechanism, engine and luggage compartment lights, lockable wheel nuts and the rear lid logo. The rear seats were replaced by a carpeted shelf with two storage cubby holes, and the front seats were replaced by simpler versions without any electric adjustment and covered in pin striped cloth. In the true lightweight version, even the underseal was omitted !

The engine was only mildly modified and nominally rated at 231 bhp. Mechanical blueprinting, along with a modified ECU allowing the engine to rev to 6840 rpm, which made for a more urgent and responsive power plant than that in the standard 3,2 Carrera. This, combined with uprated dampers and stiffer engine mountings, gave a completely different feel to the driving experience - it was, and is, a true driver's car.

The original owner kept the vehicle for a little over two years, then in August 1990 it was sold to Great Western Garage in Swindon, for some reason Great Western Garage registered the car in their name, adding an owner, but the car was immediately sold onto the new owner and correspondence in the file from the DVLA advises that Great Western Garage could not be removed from the record as a registered keeper.

The second owner retained the car for a year until it was sold to its long term owner in August 1991 who retained it until 2015.

One further owner had the vehicle recommissioned after a long period of slumber in May 2015, sadly for a number of reasons they have had to part with the car, giving Graypaul Classic Cars the opportunity to offer for sale this spectacular car.

Complete with its original service and handbooks in their original wallet, both sets of keys this vehicle is also accompanied by a large and comprehensive history file.

The long term owner continued to service the car with Porsche Dealers until 2000 at which time the vehicle was very little used, we're advised that the oil was changed regularly by the owner and it was MOT'd almost every year, but in the following 15 years only covered a further 8,000 Miles before a full recommissioning by Porsche Centre Hatfield in May 2015.

New MOT

All invoices for work carried out throughout the cars life, along with every MOT certificate and even every tax disc remain with the car.

Externally the vehicle is exceptional and is sporting original factory paintwork across the entire car and is of course matching numbers.
