1995 Renault

In 1993, Renault launched the Clio Williams as a limited edition of 3,800 cars. These sold out very quickly, not least due to the very lively 2.0 L 16-valve straight-4 engine pushing out around 150bhp, giving a top speed of 134mph (215 km/h). Coupled with performance-tuned ride and handling, this was a fast car at the time and still deserves respect today. Since then, very many motoring journalists have consistently rated the Williams as one of the very best hot hatches ever made, regardless of era.
