Welcome to the sale of my TVR Chimaera 450 in Starmist Green. I bought the car in January 2015 with the intention of sorting all the niggles & using it as my daily driver. The chap I bought it from , bought this car in 2009 from its original owner and was his daily driver (yes, it can be done!).

Since purchase I have had the Carl Baker, Meta Alarm upgrade done in March 2015, which incorporates remote boot release & hot start cure.

The engine was completely rebuilt last year by John Eales (J.E. Developments) to include fully top hat linered block, new con rods, 218 cam & fully balanced bottom end. She now performs like a silky smooth sledge hammer. It is probably the most desirable engine having the cross bolted bottom end & now the Top Hat liners too!

Although it’s a pretty high mileage example it has been meticulously looked after, being regularly serviced at a local TVR specialist and has had anything needed, sorted out pretty much immediately. It has been fully TVR Serviced from new at the following intervals :

20, 1234, 6615, 10875, 17717, 23886, 30465, 35803, 42301, 49290, 55479, 60477, 66495, 71745,

78240, 84611, 102447, 107472, 113840, 127605, 136051 and last at 144897mi

I have every receipt for every part and service since new with original handbook, except one for the passenger side chassis outrigger which the previous owner had replaced by Andy at APM in 2004. It has a fresh MOT and I have all MOT’s since new

The car has the following upgraded components:

Hydratrak limited slip diff – Although it takes a bit of getting used to this really makes the car much more driveable and a bit quicker in wet conditions.

Nitron R1 dampers – recently had rears rebuilt.

Stainless / upgraded front and rear droplinks.

Poly ARB bushes.

Braided brake hoses – front.

There is simply too much history to list with this car but some specific recent items include:

New brake master cylinder and reservoir, Handbrake cable and front upper ball joint – June 2014

New swirl tank, ARB drop links, poly bushes and exhaust mounting bushes, new rear vented 260mm discs and EBC redstuff pads – March 2014

Replacement clutch fitted in June 2011

New wiper motor this year.

It’s very presentable considering the milage & totally reliable since the Carl Baker alarm replacement.

Things to be sorted:

The leather on the right hand side of the dash top by the windscreen has shrunk and pulled away from the bonding, so this really needs to be recovered at some point .

The rear window needs replacement as the previous owner has re-stitched it in a couple of places.

Rear near-side panel needs a re-paint.

The Diff is showing it’s age & will need a refurb sooner rather than later.

This is a deeply reluctant sale. I was planning to get all the bits & bobs sorted in order to enjoy the car for a few years.

A very viable rolling project for someone who can push a few spanners.
