Description

2003 BMW M3 Coupe facelift in silver grey for sale. Beautiful and unmolested example of this fantastic car. Owned for 4 years by me, she is now an occasional weekend car (146 miles only since last October) and frankly needs to be used so the time has come to sell it on. I am the 4th owner of this M3.
This car has a great spec: electric, heated black leather (inc elec lumbar support), widescreen nav, 19" wheels, bluetooth, sunroof, power folding mirrors (rare option), sunroof, 3rd rear belt, armrest. This along with the standard M3 spec of xenon lights, auto lights/wipers, cruise, rear parking sensors etc. Car is fitted with a tracker.
Benefits from the awesome SMG drivelogic system. If you've read this far, thought 'the SMGs not for me' but haven't tried it, I suggest you do, see how quickly you change your mind. For me, it makes the car.
This car has a folder full of paperwork covering the original bill of sale, each and every service, completed on time in the right order (oil/Insp1/oil/Insp2/oil) and a stack of other paperwork and history.
Services are as follows:
Running in service 1298 miles @ Sytner (BMW) Chigwell on 22-01-04
Oil service 11,516 miles @ Sytner (BMW) City on 18-01-05
Inspection I 23,479 miles @ Whitehouse (BMW) Blackheath on 26-04-06
Oil service 35,652 miles @ Stephan James (BMW) Blackheath on 12-06-07
Inspection II 45,886 miles @ Stephan James (BMW) Blackheath on 05-09-08
Oil service 56,285 miles @ Bexley motor works (Indy) on 12-01-10
Inspection I 65,892 miles @ ETA motorsports (Indy) on 02-12-11
Oil service 70,669 miles @ Iridium Engineering (Indy) on 15-11-12
Inspection II 80,338 miles @ Iridium Engineering 29-10-13
Oil service 85,507 miles @ Iridium Engineering 27-10-14
Inspection I 87,051 miles @ Iridium Engineering 30-10-15
Mileage is currently at 87,197. Next service technically not due until next year or another 12k miles or so. I have always liked to have this done annually regardless of mileage as can be seen. As such it will be booked to go back to Iridium (the only place I will take it - please google them and their reputation speaks for itself) later this month where I will get it MOT’d also. Should it sell beforehand, I will take the equivalent cost of the service off the asking price. I will however ensure it comes with a fresh MOT. Mileage will only increase for its trip to the garage, some 10 miles or so.
The engine on this has been superb. It pulls like a train to the redline, and uses no oil. It has had no headgasket issues, and I always warm it up properly. Vanos is quiet and never had any cause for concern. For peace of mind, I asked Iridium to partly dismantle and check the bolts to camshaft were sound on one of its visits.
This car has had full boot floor (subframe) reinforcement. If you are in the market for an M3, you probably know about the boot floor cracks that these suffer from, if not, have a read around the subject before you buy one. This car has had the entire rear end removed, and Redish steel plates welded in. Following this, resin was injected into the floor cavity to provide additional support. While it was apart, many of the hard to reach rear bushes and consumables were replaced, the rear brake lines were also replaced. All this work was carried out at Iridium, and I have the paperwork and certification to prove.
Tyres are Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas all round. Fronts have 7mm tread; rears have 6mm. Disks and pads are good all round and have a lot of life left in them. Wheels were refurbished by Lepsons a few years ago in shadow chrome, which wears the finish much better than polishing, and are in general excellent condition, a couple of marks and an inch or so of kerbing on the offside rear.
Car is permanently garaged so is away from the elements. I replaced the battery last year and this is trickle charged to maintain the condition. Exterior condition is excellent.
This has had the airbag recall completed.
Bad points: little bit of stone chipping to the front end, driver bolster has some scuffing, few pixels on the nav have given up.
Car is HPI clear. On top of the mountain of paperwork, I have 2 remote keys and the valet key.
I am not desperate to sell this car. I will not entertain daft offers for it – if you want a decent M3, come and see it for yourself. Please bear in mind that unless you can show me a valid comprehensive insurance policy, I will not allow test drives on this. I am more than happy to take genuine interested buyers out in it.
Please no traders, timewasters, dreamers, or testpilots.
Interested in part exchange only on an E91/E61 325i/330i/530i touring.
Any questions welcome by email or phone. If I cannot answer the phone, please leave a message and I will come back to you. I am located near Southampton, Hampshire.
Thanks for reading :)
