2000 TVR Chimaera 450S Turbo Manual Supercar!

The Chimaera was first shown at the 1992 NEC Motor show as a softer more practical version of the Griffith, with which it shares the same chassis.By 2003 some 6000 Chimaeras had been built with a choice of 5 different versions of the Rover V8 ranging from the 4.0 litre to the 5.0 litre.It also had 3 subtle facelifts over its 11 year production, starting price of the basic car was c £34000.00

Our car ,offered for sale, was originally supplied as a standard 450 but has been modified. THE LOW MILEAGE , 23000 covered is commensurate with the immaculate all round condition of this car. It is finished in startling “Starmist Blue” from the factory with blue magnolia half leather with added Alcantara to dash top , door cards, side bolsters and steering wheel centre. It has the “Leven Technology” silver interior kit throughout and a special order boost gauge added to the dashboard to show the turbo pressure.

The Tuscan speed Six headlight conversion brings the front alive and added to that extra vents cut in the front for twin oil Coolers and extra vents to the rear of the bonnet to aid the flow of cooling air away from the engine.

This is no ordinary Chimaera, it could almost certainly crush the best AC Cobra and does it in relative comfort! The suspension setup puts this car way above the standard car as it has all round independent suspension with double wishbones and GAZ gold dampers. The front braking performed by 12.9 inch AP brake upgrade and 9.9 inch ventilated discs to the rear.

It sits on 18” Tuscan style aluminium spider alloys and fine detailing to the calipers.

The power plant ; Rover 90 Degree alloy V8 4600cc top hat linered block, low compression forged pistons with ceramic coated crowns and teflon coated skirts , flowed, ported big valve heads , enlarged and ported inlet manifold , trumpet base, thermal insulator, enlarged throttle , lightened steel flywheel, all fully balanced, MS2 ECU for fuel and spark , uprated fuel injectors , uprated fuel pump and more.Finally ; Turbocharged at 14psi with intercooler.Drive through a TKO 600 Gearbox with Mcleod rst twin plate clutch and upgraded drive shafts!
