Overview

Unless you were willing to forego a whole host of creature comforts and buy yourself a GT2 or GT3, the Turbo was the fastest 996 you were able to get your hands on when this car was built. The 3.6-litre flat-six engine produces 408 bhp and 415 lb ft, so it’s certainly no slouch, especially with a 0-62 mph time of just 4.2 seconds.

The example offered for sale here was purchased in 2004 and specially ordered in Polar Silver paint. It features a not-very-discreet rear spoiler, as well as a front splitter, just to remind you what it is capable of.

It has clearly been well looked after, with the paint remaining in excellent condition, and the interior showing only light signs of use. The car spent a period of about five years off the road, and still hasn’t passed the 40,000 miles mark since it was first registered in 2004. The service history is very reassuring, with plenty of stamps from Porsche service centres. The vendor tells us that it was a Porsche GB showcar for a time.

So if you’re looking for a well-preserved example of a fast 911 which you could happily drive every day, then this 996 Turbo has a lot to offer.
