Overview

There was a time way back in the misty darkness we call ‘the past’ when driving a convertible in anything other than optimum weather conditions was a commitment. Thankfully those days are far behind us, so in a car like this Audi you can happily enjoy the summer sunshine with the roof down, without worrying that you’ve bought the wrong car for the coming winter. Simply raise the hood, flick on the heated seats and rear screen, and forget that you’re not in a car with a metal roof.

The S5 in question comes with a powerfully supercharged V6 engine — 330 bhp to be precise — which is coupled to all four wheels via a seven-speed transmission. And some clever engineering magic allows the centre differential to marshal its forces and send power precisely where it’s needed, front or rear.

The Mythos Black paint on this particular car gives it a very suave appearance, and this is complemented by the flashes of red on the interior. It comes fitted with all the bells and whistles you would expect to see on an executive car of this calibre, and remains in very good condition throughout. And a good history of regular servicing provides mechanical reassurance.
