Overview
Back in 2014 the definitive two-seater roadster turned 25 years old, and Mazda celebrated by releasing a special ‘25th Anniversary Edition. This model features a two-litre, naturally-aspirated engine driving the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, as well as a unique paint colour: Soul Red. Each car features unique numbered badges on the front wings, as well as a leather interior in Light Stone with contrasting red stitching and comes with the added practicality of a folding hard top, which is finished in black.
Limited to just 1,099 units worldwide — and with 750 of those coming to the UK — you won’t drive past another one every day. The car on sale here is number 562 in the production run. It comes with a printout of its digital service record, and a reassuringly advisory-free MOT.
The car remains in very presentable condition inside and out, with only light signs of use to the pale leather upholstery, and a few minor scuffs in the paintwork. Perfectionists might set to it with a machine polisher, while driving enthusiasts will be champing at the bit to get their hands on the wheel and feet on the drilled aluminium pedals.
So if you’re looking for a fast, fun roadster with a few creature comforts like air conditioning and an electric folding hardtop roof, then this MX-5 has a lot to offer.

Summary
Given that everyone needs to own an MX-5 at some point in their driving career, it might as well be something a little special. And the 25th Anniversary Edition looks great with its Soul Red paint, Dark Gunmetal alloy wheels, and discreet numbered badges. The folding hard top adds in year-round usability so it’s a car you could consider dailying.
It’s got all the right bits to be a memorable driving machine, too, with the 2 litre engine, six speed box and limited slip diff. In fact, it looks to be quite the all-rounder and should be the perfect way to scratch an MX-5 itch.
