Overview

The Cayman is one of those cars which the world didn’t realise it needed until it came along. Its non-identical twin, the Boxster was introduced first with the hardtop Cayman coming shortly after.

This second generation model features the 2.9-litre, six cylinder boxer engine, coupled to a seven-speed PDK transmission, which allows lightning-fast gear changes even under hard acceleration.

Finished in a smart shade of crisp white, this car remains very presentable. There was once a time when white cars quickly started to show signs of their age, but Porsche has certainly left those days behind. There are just a few tiny stonechips in the paint, and it retains a deep shine.

The interior is very well appointed, as you would expect from Porsche. Neatly stitched leather upholstery throughout, tastefully embossed Porsche emblems on the headrests, and plenty of creature comforts. And with luggage space front and rear, you’ll be able to enjoy this car on longer trips away.

Accompanying the car is a reassuring service record, with all the minor defects noted on the latest MOT having been professionally rectified already. It has always been serviced every year or two, with plenty of stamps in the book to prove this.

In summary, it’s a well-presented, well maintained consummate all-rounder of a sports car.
